Hello everyone!
Woah, I have a blog. Crazy s***! I know, y'all have probably been blogging forever, but for me this is brandnew.
Just like "a website" is new for Gonzo, check out what he wrote in his blog (yeah, I've been checking other people's blogs before I got started!):
http://gonzales.artistes.universalmusic.fr/2008/04/02/gonzpirationLol. Thought that was funny. I kind of feel like this with having a blog! But I also thought it might be actually interesting for you guys to see how my record developes and to learn something about the process of making a record and finally releasing it in times like these, if you know what I mean. Not that I know anything (well, I do know quite a lot about this biz, but then again nothing), but I will share my experience with you. That's what a blog is for, right?
First steps have already been taken: the record is finished! Quite a bis step, right? After writing it mainly in New York City, I recorded it in three sessions in Berlin with da great
DON PHILIPPE at
AUDIOCUE with Rainer Robben as a terrific sound engineer.
Right now I am deciding where to mix the record.
Fabulous Fab made a wonderful remix and that makes it very possible that I will finish up the record in NYC with him.
And then finally I will release the record this autumn! YEAH! It will be available in stores in Germany, Switzerland and Austria and in the internet in every other country on planet earth! The internet, how sweet it is! I will release it through my own record company! Now that's exciting. I decided a major record company would be fine thing, but do we (the artists) still need them? It's kinda hard for me to let go of the dream of signing this super major deal with this super expensive stylograph and later on opening a bottle of champagner. But life is far more exciting. It suprises you and challanges your dreams, it's provocative. Isn't it? After meeting some majors, I decided: I'd rather be working for a paycheck
than waiting to win the lottery (thanks to the fantastic Bright Eyes for that line!). And after all; the major's don't offer you millions anymore. Go figure!... lol
So, the next weeks I will keep you informed about mixing and mastering the record, making a video, making the cover and and and... But I also thought about blending in some old infos about me. Like live recordings at open mike bars, maybe some old pics and youtube stuff and whatever I think might be interesting!
Let's make this a great blog!
