The first single of my upcoming album "4 in a Cycle of Thirds" is OUT NOW and tonight I will play all songs live for the first time at Stone Nest in London!
The press text for the song reads a little something like this:
"Key moment “Domestisizer (on F)” is built on a precise and urgent performance by bassist Nina Harries, interwoven with the expertly played Anatolian Alevi saz by Zöhre Ülger and the rhythmic, bowed cello of Zara Hudson-Kozdoj. Its lyrics are fiery, uncompromising, a call to action, as eddying string lines gradually develop into a coloured and detailed palette."
Yessss the song does all that but also in holds my anger, in a way that feels constructive to me. It makes me feel brave and strong and in company. Together with you all. I am proud you will get to hear it today!
It is hard to have your eyes and ears open all the time. Be on the look out, be aware. Aware of erasure and silencing.
But no one can silence everyone. So we all keep making a little or a lot of noise. I am not as brave as I would like to be, not as loud either.
But each note gets me closer.
Thank you!
